The "default domain" refers to the domain name that the DNS servers belong to.
This is usually provided by an ISP as part of an Internet account. My personal ISP is Pacific Bell, so I use their DNS servers in the pacbell.net domain.
You should also provide the IP addresses of at least two name servers to use for Internet access.
If you have difficulty obtaining these numbers, they can be determined while connected from within MS-Windows.
