The "Options" panel offers several additional settings that can be applied to a device.
Since this disk will only be used for storage, it's not crucial that it be automatically mounted at startup. Choosing "don't mount at boot time" and "User mountable" will allow the users to access the disk when needed.
The other options allow the administrator (probably you) greater control over how the disk gets used.
