Configuration Options

Attention: These config-options can be change in newer versions of the qmail module

Please pay attention of the "/" (slashes) in the path- and filenames.

Configuration option	Descriptions
qmail-directory	The root directory for qmail. Normally "/var/qmail".
qmail start programm	This can be a SysV Init Style script or the original start-call of Qmail. I´m using the shell script of Harald Hanche-Olsen
path to rcpthost file of qmail	This is normally "control/rcpthosts". Please be alarmed: internally I´m using a construct of qmail-directory+"/"+rcpthosts-path
path to virtualdomains file of qmail	This is normally "control/virtualdomains". Please be alarmed: internally I´m using a construct of qmail-directory+"/"+rcpthosts-path
path to defaultdomain file	This is normally "control/defaultdomain". In this release I don´t use this entry Please be alarmed: internally I´m using a construct of qmail-directory+"/"+rcpthosts-path.
path to locals file	This is normally "control/locals". Please be alarmed: internally I´m using a construct of qmail-directory+"/"+rcpthosts-path
path to 'me'	This is normally "control/me". In this release I don´t use this entry Please be alarmed: internally I´m using a construct of qmail-directory+"/"+rcpthosts-path

After filling in this form, click on the "Save"-button.

Virtual Domain Menu

Attention: In this release there is no possibility to change entries

You have four choices:

List Virtual Domains

You can list all your domains in the virtualdomains file of Qmail. After you selected one domain you see the eMails of this domain, or this domain is a "domain pop3-account".
When you select an eMail-address, you see several informations about this account, e.g. the number of eMails in the maibox, and a list of all eMails in the Maildir-Directory of this account. You can select one eMail out of the list, and now you are ready to read it.

Create Virtual Domain

Under this entry you can create a virtual domain account. For now, you enter the new domain name in the form of "domain.tld" and select one systemuser you must create first with the webmin user module or with the unix-utilities for adding users.

Create Virtual Domain User

With this entry you can create new virtual domain user accounts for Qmail. First, you must select the virtual domain. After selecting the domain, you can enter the username for the new email address. Now you have two choices:

1. Local User
2. eMail Address

If you created a real system-useraccount with the webmin user module or with the appropiate unix-tool, you can choose one unix-user for your new pop3-account. Or you select the eMail-Address option. With this option you make a mail-forwarding account.

Receiving Hosts

With this sub-module you can list, add and delete domains/hosts, for mails your Qmail server wants to receive. If you create a virtual domains e.g. the entry for this domain is automatically added to qmails rcpthosts file.

Local Domains

With this sub-module you can list, add and delete local domains, for hosts/domains which MX Record is set to the real hosts address.
