Write that letter

The Default Keyboard Shortcut is: Ctl + N

After selecting the Compose function you are presented with the Mail Compose Window ( Dialog.)

There are three primary areas and a few different functions available from this dialog.

1. The Top Icon Bar See the section called The Composer Window - Icon Toolbar for more information.

2. The Address Entry Fields See the section called Receivers Address below for more information.

3. The Message Entry or Edit Window. See the section called The Mail Bodybelow for more information.

Select Account

By default the first account you configured is pre-loaded into this field

To choose another account select the arrow on the right hand side of this field and click the account name you require

Receivers Address

These three fields (TO, CC and BCC) are the places you enter the full E-mail address of the person(s) to whom you are writing.

  • TO

    The primary person or group your mail is directed to

  • CC

    Send a Carbon Copy to this person

  • BCC

    Send a“ Backup Carbon Copy”.

Mail Subject

Write a short, clear heading for your mail here

The Mail Body

The letter / message itself

This is what it is all about . The primary reason for having a mail application at all.

Here you type in your pearls of prose .

Please note that basic cut and paste is supported as is including the contents of a file. If you want to be sure that your recipient can read your stuff the safest choice would be plain text but theoretically anything that may be presented as text may be pasted into here.
