Chapter 4. Command Reference

4.1. The menu bar

4.1.1. The File menu

File->New (Ctrl+N)

Start a new game.

File->Open... (Ctrl+O)

Open a previously saved game.

File->Save (Ctrl+S)

Save the current game.

File->Save As...

Save the current game with a different name.

File->Quit (Ctrl+Q)

Quits KJumpingCube.

4.1.2. The Game menu

Game->Get Hint (Ctrl+H)

Get a hint as to the best next move.

Game->Stop thinking (Esc)

Stop the computer opponent thinking about it's next move. The computer opponent will then make the best move it has found up to the moment you told it to stop.

Game->Undo Move (Ctrl+Z)

Undo the last move you made.

4.1.3. The Settings menu

Settings->Show toolbar

Toggle on and off the view of the tool bar.

Settings->Show Statusbar

Toggle on and off the view of the status bar.

Settings->Configure Key Bindings...

Open a dialog where you can change the keybindings for KJumpingCube

Settings->Playfield

Lets you choose from a list of playfield sizes.

The sizes available in the submenu are:

5x5
6x6
7x7
8x8
9x9
10x10
Settings->Skill

Lets you choose your playing skill from a submenu. This decides how clever your computer opponent is, if you are playing against the computer.

You can choose from:

Beginner
Average
Expert
Settings->Computer Plays Player 1

Sets the computer opponent to be Player 1

The computer can play itself if you select both this and Computer Plays Player 2

Settings->Computer Plays Player 2

Sets the computer opponent to be Player 2

The computer can play itself if you select both this and Computer Plays Player 1

Settings->Color Player 1...

Opens a dialog box where you can choose the color for Player 1's pieces.

Settings->Color Player 2...

Opens a dialog box where you can choose the color for Player 2's pieces.

4.1.4. The Help menu

Help->Contents (F1)

Open the help for KJumpingCube (this document)

Help->What's this? (Shift+F1)

Change to What's This? mode, where the cursor turns into a question mark, and clicking on interface items will give you a short popup help item, if one exists.

Help->Report Bug...

Open a dialog box, where you can report a bug, or request a wishlist feature.

Help->About KJumpingCube...

Shows information about the developers and other contributors to KJumpingCube

Help->About KDE...

Shows information about KDE
