CHANGELOG
===========

WSoundPrefs is the replacement of my older application WMSound Setup (aka WMSS)
I have given this application a total makeover both in looks and functionality.
The ability to turn on/off sound in WindowMaker has been removed as this can
already be done with WPrefs now, and basically is not a configuration option of
WMSound. (It's not stored in the WMSound domain file but in the WindowMaker
domain file)

A function I did add is the ability to tell WMSound what sound-device to use.
This was a function missing in the last release of wmss.

On requests of several people I have also added a "short term memory option"
in all the filepanels. Each section will now remember what the last selected
directory was and use that directory as the start directory the next time that
specific panel is opened. (Browse/Load/Save each have their own memory)
This memory is lost after the application is exited.

Last but not least I have enhanced the soundfile Browse function.
It will now detect if the selected soundfile is located in your SoundPath and
will strip unnecesary data in theses cases.
When making changes to your SoundPaths you will have to save them first before
the Browse panel will notice these changes though.

SUPPORTED PLATFORMS
===================
(i.e.: I've heard someone has compiled it on...)

- intel/FreeBSD (as this is the development platform)
- intel/Linux   (Debian / Alpha)

Probably every platform that can run the WPrefs application.
Since this program is heavily based on WPrefs.

REQUIREMENTS:
=============

The following software is required to use WMSound Setup
- WindowMaker 0.50.x (and up) with WMSound-support (tested with 0.8.0, 0.8.1 and 0.9.0)

INSTALLATION:
=============

1: xmkmf -a
2: make
3: make install

NOTE: No more editing of the Imakefiles ... Unless you want to change the
installation prefix.

RUNNING:
========

Installing the application will create a ${PREFIX}/GNUstep/WSoundPrefs.app
directory. To start this application it is needed to provide it's FULL PATH.
Just like with WPrefs.

In this case:
/usr/share/GNUstep/WSoundPrefs.app/WSoundPrefs

When docking the application to either the dock or the clip please set it's
icon to the following pixmap (you can use the .xpm version as well) :
/usr/share/GNUstep/WSoundPrefs.app/WSoundPrefs.tiff

This way the application will perform the exact same "lighting" effect when
activated as WPrefs does.
